Used Alerion Express 28s:

Although there now 405 Alerion Express 28s built as of January, 2008, used Alerion Express 28s are relativley rare. The boats hold their value well, or even appreciate a bit depending on added extras and maintenance. Most buyers find they have to look outside the Bay Area for used boats.

If you choose to puchase a used Alerion Express 28, it is suggested that you first ask for input on the boat from the local SF Bay Fleet One members.

Keep in mind that hull numbers 150 and subsequent Alerion Express 28s may have a different shaped keels then the earlier versions. The later bulb-keel versions offer a lower center of gravity.

To date we have no racing Alerion 28s in on the San Francisco Bay featuring the older-style fin keels. So we cannot comment on the relative performance capabilities of the two versions.
