Used Alerion Express 28s:

Although there now 450 Alerion Express 28s built as of January, 2009, used Alerion Express 28s are relativley rare. The boats hold their value well, or even appreciate a bit depending on added extras and maintenance. Most buyers find they have to look outside the Bay Area for used boats.

If you choose to puchase a used Alerion Express 28, it is suggested that you first ask for input on the boat from the local SF Bay Fleet One members. Remember the old adage a opinions and get more than one opinion.

Keep in mind that hull numbers 150 and subsequent Alerion Express 28s may have a different shaped keels then the earlier versions. The later bulb-keel versions offer a lower center of gravity.

To date we have no racing Alerion 28s in on the San Francisco Bay featuring the older-style fin keels. So we cannot comment on the relative performance capabilities of the two versions.
